DOH Suspended the Dengue Vaccine “Dengvaxia” After Vaccinated It to More Than 700,000 Children Due To It Might Have Severe Side Effects



Dengue has been one of the illnesses that trigger death rates in the Philippines over the long years ago. And currently, Sanofi supplied the first ever vaccine for Dengue that was suggested to people ages between of 9-45.

Sanofi is a French pharmaceutical company; they supplied vaccine called Dengvaxia that gives protection from all four dengue strains.

Nevertheless, the manufacturer later acknowledged that the vaccine may have dangerous side effects, such vaccine could cause to a more severe dengue condition when it will be given to people who were not yet infected with dengue.

And currently, the Department of Health or DOH of the Philippines is immediately taking actions by preventing the immunization program.

But there are already more than 700,000 kids that were vaccinated through the Dengue vaccine before they called it out.

The Philippine government also paid out 3.5 billion or more than $69,000,000 just to but the Dengue Vaccine.

The vaccine only extend region 3, 4 and the NCR or National Capital Region. DOH declares that 90% of them have had Dengue in the past.

Philippine Health Secretary Francisco Duque III invited the Dengue Technical Management to have a meeting for the action plan regarding the problem. He said: “The safety of the children vaccinated is uppermost, and the Health Department will require doing observations of those given Dengvaxia with no previous infection. It is actually a big duty.”

Global Medical head of Sanofi Pasteur Dr. Su-Peing Ng released an affirmation saying: “these findings show up the complex nature of dengue infection. 

We’re active with the health authorities to assure that people who recommends, vaccinates, and patients are entirely informed other new findings, with the goal of increasing the effect of Dengvaxia in dengue-endemic countries.”
