Stop a Toothache and Get Out Of Soreness Quick with These 3 Home Remedies

Toothache can get so annoying that even when you are not eating, you’d feel the throbbing ache of the nerves on your tooth, disturbing you from the things you have to do.

If you are looking for a treatment, below are the three fast and simple ways to soothe yourself from toothache.

1. Cloves

The main chemical content of cloves is eugenol which is a natural anesthetic. This provides cloves a freezing effect on the nerves making it a great treatment for tooth pain.

Apart from anesthetic, cloves also contain anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant contents that help combat infection while soothing toothache.

Put 2 drops of clove oil on a cotton ball and rub it directly on the painful tooth until the pain subsides.
You can also blend a several drops of it in a ½ glass of water instead and use it as a mouth wash. Remember that using clove oil directly on your toothache may trigger more pain if it gets on the sore gum tissue or on the tongue.
Another procedure is to make a mixture of 2 whole cloves and veggie or olive oil and then put it on the affected area.
Otherwise, you can bite on a full clove instead; just to unleash its oil, and remain it in area for 30 minutes or until the pain subsides.

2. Salt

Salt contains anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, and analgesic contents that help clean the tooth and draw out several of the liquid that causes inflammation thereby making it a great treatment for sore, aching tooth.

Blend a 1 tsp. of salt into a 1 cup of very warm water to make a great pain-soothing mouthwash. Gargle it around for at least 30 seconds before spitting it out. Do this procedure as often as required.
Or, you can make a paste out of equal quantity of salt and pepper with a several drops of water. Apply directly on your toothache and let it stay for a several minutes. Do this procedure every day for few days.

3. Ice cubes

Applying ice cubes is a great rapid fix for soothing tooth pain. The coldness not only reduces toothache by numbing the nerve endings but it can lessen inflammation too.

Put an ice cube in a thin cloth and place it on the affected area for about 15 minutes or hold it on your cheek, above the painful tooth. Know that if you select to apply it on the painful tooth and there are vulnerable nerves in the part, the contact with the cold could trigger more sore.
Or, an acupressure technique recommends that rubbing an ice cube in the fleshy part where your thumb meets your index finger would reduce toothache.
